Floral I: Listening Green is an atmospheric and layered oil and cold wax painting that immerses the viewer in a semi-abstract floral dreamscape. Dominated by soft pastel greens, lavenders, pinks, and delicate mauves, the composition draws the eye inward along a gentle, almost meandering path of color and texture.

On the left, broad leaf-like forms anchor the scene with a mossy, grounded presence. Skeletal branches rise from this area, echoing delicate veins or line drawings scratched into the wax, creating a sense of fragile resilience. The right side opens into larger blooms—a vibrant pink flower at the top edge, a darker, heavier blossom near the lower right, and a suggestion of lavender flowers trailing down through the middle. These are not literal plants but gestural impressions—organic shapes emerging from memory or feeling.

This painting feels like a moment just before something—before sunrise, before a breeze lifts a petal, before a memory fully surfaces. It has a melancholic beauty—the blend of soft pastels with more somber purples and shadows adds a tender, almost nostalgic layer—like remembering something lovely but distant.
